Since Alex Rodriguez achieved only a 204 batting average in his first 17 games with the Mariners in 1994, he was sent to Triple A in Calgary and Triple A in Tacoma. He also played for several months in the Dominican Republic. By the autumn of 1995, however, he had started his permanent position in the Major Leagues. The 20 year old Rodriguez had a 232 batting average in the 1995 season when he was a back up short stop for Luis Sojo on the Mariners. |
